Who We Are
Founded in 1954, Blood Bank of Delmarva is a nonprofit community-based blood center that provides lifesaving blood and blood products to
1.5 million people and 29 hospitals on the Delmarva Peninsula
. With donor centers in Delaware (Dagsboro, Dover, Middletown, Newark), Maryland (Salisbury), and Pennsylvania (Chadds Ford), we serve our community by meeting the needs of patients, hospitals, and donors with safe, high-quality blood products and related services.
Our Lifesaving Network
In 2019, BBD merged with New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe). As a division of NYBCe, we are part of a network that is internationally recognized for its high humanitarian impact, including lifesaving blood products, specialty pharmaceuticals, and high-quality clinical, technical, testing, and consultative services for healthcare providers and patients.
