Birthday mode feature is no longer available on web, but Baby Globe’s adventures continue

Thank you to everyone that took part in helping to make this special, limited time feature to celebrate Wikipedia’s 25th birthday! We loved collaborating with each of you and making something fun, playful and very Wikipedia together.
We have fully removed the feature from the codebase. It was built to last just a short time as an experiment. If you want to see what Baby Globe gets up to next, have a look at what the Wikipedia Apps team is planning to continue the celebrations with the 25-day Wikipedia App Reading Challenge widget! Join the challenge from May 1 to May 31, 2026. Baby Globe will be available as a reading companion on your Android or iOS device homescreen. Read one article a day for 25 days on the Wikipedia app to unlock a special prize.
Our next update here will be to share some of the results and lessons we’ve learned from this experiment. Thank you again and we look forward to future collaborations!
