Industry Standards
The WLA supports two internationally recognized standards for the lottery industry – the WLA Security Control Standard (WLA-SCS) and the WLA Responsible Gaming Framework (WLA-RGF). Certifications to these two industry standards will help your operation gain regulatory acceptance, secure your players’ trust, increase your brand loyalty, and improve your organizational performance.
Combatting illegal operators
With the growth of illegal gaming and sports betting operators around the world the WLA Combating Illegal Betting Committee works to assist our members in this area.
Sports Integrity
It is paramount to maintain sports integrity and combat sports competition manipulation for the reputation of the lotteries and sports betting operators, and sports industries.

Play for Society showcases WLA member support of good causes
Around the world, WLA lottery and sports betting operator members support many good causes in arts and culture, education, the environment, healthcare, and sports. United in purpose, their common goal is to raise funds for good causes and positively impact society.
The figures are phenomenal. In 2024, the WLA Global Lottery Data Compendium noted that our members raised USD 376.9 billion and returned USD 91.1 billion, which positively impacted numerous communities and individuals in Africa, Asia/The Pacific, Europe/ The MiddleEast, Latin America, and North America/ The Caribbean.
