Plot
The story begins with modern elite detective Xu Qi'an (played by Wang Hedi), whose soul travels to the Great River Dynasty due to an accident, becoming a prisoner in the capital facing exile. Using his exceptional wit and modern knowledge, he successfully averts the crisis and, through a twist of fate, joins the "Guardians," an organization responsible for capital security and night patrols. As the plot deepens, Xu Qi'an finds himself entangled in a vast conspiracy involving court factional struggles, royal secrets, and even forces beyond the mortal realm. He meets Chu Caiwei (played by Tian Xiwei), the daughter of the mysterious Director of the Imperial Astrological Observatory. Aloof and enigmatic, she and Xu Qi'an progress from initial misunderstandings to cooperation, facing numerous crises together. While investigating cases, Xu Qi'an not only gradually adapts to this world's cultivation system but also befriends companions with diverse personalities to confront the mastermind behind the scenes.
