To obtain more intelligence, Wu Shi resolutely went to Taiwan to take up his post, following the instructions of the Party organization. Operating undercover as a Lieutenant General in the Kuomintang, he transmitted top-secret intelligence, engaging in a thrilling covert struggle.
Historically, Wu Shi was ordered to go to Taiwan on the eve of Fuzhou's liberation, infiltrating enemy lines as the Deputy Chief of the National Defense Ministry. Zhu Feng (played by Wu Yue), as a liaison officer, risked her life to carry out missions to protect Wu Shi and others.
Around the time of the 1949 liberation, the Kuomintang attempted to obstruct the unification of New China. Intelligence personnel on the covert front fought valiantly within enemy territory, composing the "Silent Glory" with their lives and blood.
